HAIRY BUSH PEA - pultinea velosa

The pultinea's are probably the pinnacle of the prolific pollen-producing plants on the property.

Fantastic bee food from the Fabaceae family. Pultenaea villosa is a local flower found naturally in Brisbane and down through the coastal region of New South Wales to Bega on the south coast.

Commonly known as the 'Egg and Bacon Pea', its blossom 'buzzes' all through spring and summer as the bees bring in the big bounties of bright orange pollen it bestows upon us.
